Our Team
 

Our team is senior with many years of successful marketing and design experience. Each Client benefits from our strategic backgrounds as well as the learning we have amassed from our experience in a multitude of categories.

By choice, we are a small team - comprised of senior level professionals, each with 15-28+ years in the design and marketing field. We are a tightly knit group that enjoys working together.

Ken Monnens

Ken Monnens

Ken is the founding principal and Executive Creative Director, overseeing all creative work.

Ken graduated with highest honors with a BS in Fine Art from UC Davis in 1976, having studied with many of California's leading contemporary artists including Wayne Thiebaud and Manual Neri. He then studied design at CCAC and simultaneously began his career as a designer for Cato Johnson, a design subsidiary of Young & Rubicam. While working full-time, Ken attended evening classes and received his law degree in the spring of 1983.

In the fall of 1983, Ken founded what is now kenCREATIVE with a portfolio of clients that included The Clorox Company, Atari Home Computers and Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream.

Ken's almost 25 year career in design spans all categories and industries. Ken has provided design solutions and account service to America's top companies. His design sense is strategic, brand focused and award-winning.

Stacey Lawrence - Brand Strategist

Stacey Lawrence

Stacey joined kenCREATIVE six years ago, after ten years at Young & Rubicam/SF. Stacey's focus is brand building programs that help client's grow their business.

Her experience in building strong brands includes deep knowledge of research and strategy tools that effectively differentiate a brand. That strategic work has been evidenced in advertising, promotion, packaging and identity development for our clients. She has worked extensively in consumer goods, with brands including: Brita, Chicken of the Sea, Rod McLellan, Diamond Walnuts, Sun-Maid Raisins and Robert Mondavi. In the consumer services arena she has contributed her brand expertise to HealthNet, Broadcom wireless, Wells Fargo Bank, Charles Schwab and Kemper Insurances.

Additionally, Stacey worked on the client side as a Brand Manager early in her career.

Stacey's role is to insure that strategic direction is well defined, and reflected in the creative work produced by the studio.

Erin Siverson - Account Executive

Erin Siverson

Erin is a recent addition to the kenCREATIVE team. She graduated from UC Davis in 2003 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Community and Regional Development with and emphasis in sociology. For the past two years, Erin worked as an Account Executive in the health field. Erin's formal training, and keen design sense, add insight to our service-based clients like Club One, Bellamax and Episcopal Homes Foundation.

Sandra Cooper - Creative Director

Sandra Cooper

Sandy attended UC Davis with Ken, and has worked throughout her career on many distinguished projects. Many of Sandy's projects can be seen on supermarket shelves in the household products, food, condiments and beverage aisles.

Her brand experience includes Supersoil, Club One and Seagram Estates Wines. From a strategic perspective, Sandy's contributions to consumer and trade promotions for clients like Mothers Cake and Cookie Company, Nestle Beverages, and Pepsi have proven successful.

Most recently, Sandy was the creative lead on our 30 SKU package design for Rod McLellan's Whitney Farms brand and our brand identity designs for Bellamax's suite of consumer products.

Additionally, Sandy is an accomplished illustrator.

Jon Griffin - Senior Art Director

Jon has worked with Ken for close to 10 years. He brings a focused energy to branding projects that results in hard-hitting, impactful results.

Jon is an accomplished designer and a key contributor to our creative team. He led our packaging work for Black Diamond Brewing Company and the communication design standards for Grainger Industrial Supply.

Chris Pappamichiel - Studio Manager

Chris Pappamichiel

Chris has more than ten years experience in production and studio management. He is skilled at handling large, complex projects due to his keen organizational skills and attention to detail. Chris was instrumental in helping establish our Collateral Standards work for Kemper, Grainger, PIER 39, Koret and Club One and continues to oversee all mechanical production in our studio.

Sandy Adams - Business Manager

Sandy Adams

Sandy keeps our business and financial affairs "current" and complete. Her attention to detail is paramount and her quality efforts allow the account and design teams to stay focused on our Clients' strategic and creative solutions.
